What is it?
TVC is a form of advertising that promotes products, services, ideas, individuals or organizations via the television medium.
The duration of TVCs greatly vary but they usually falls between 7 seconds to 3 minutes. Regardless of the length of the TVC, it is important to keep in mind that the message conveyed would have to be catchy to keep the viewers from losing interest within the first few seconds of the TVC.
Why would you have it?
Get to the point immediately. You typically only have 60 seconds or less to advertise your product. Explain what your new product is offering as soon as the viewers see it.
TV commercial has to be engaging and entertaining for the consumer. It is, however, much easier to grow your brand awareness, since it has huge numbers of viewers-somewhere even millions.
Advertising has three primary objectives: to inform, to persuade, and to remind. Even if you are already using a certain product, once you are shopping, you might think of a new product you saw in the TV commercial and try it out.
A brand’s presence on TV can lend credibility. It exposes that brand to a much larger audience initially than online advertising. TV advertising drives all other forms of promotion and creates the demand over time.
